A small German town, the 20s, just after the war. Young German, Anna, visits the resting place of the fallen on the fiancée's front. To her astonishment, the girl meets a mysterious man of foreign origin over the grave of Frantz.
Man, Adrien, turns out to be a French immigrant. Introduces himself as a friend of the deceased. Over time, the French and German begin to create a peculiar bond. Only if Adrien really is the one he is serving.
